Polygon zkEVM Hits New Milestones as Polygon 2.0 Looms

Last Updated: August 2, 2023

• Polygon’s zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible rollup is hitting new milestones with a surge in Total Value Locked (TVL) and network activity.
• zkEVM recorded 115,114 transactions on July 31st, the highest daily count since its inception and also saw an increase in unique addresses from 290,510 to 340,950.
• These milestones highlight the excitement surrounding the project and the Polygon 2.0 vision.

Polygon zkEVM on Track for Polygon 2.0

The Polygon ecosystem is preparing for a transition to Polygon 2.0 and ahead of this widely anticipated transition, its zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible rollup is hitting new milestones with an increase in Total Value Locked (TVL), daily transactions and unique users.

Record Level TVL Above $50 Million

The number of daily transactions has been on an uptrend since the network’s launch in March 2023 and shows no signs of slowing down. Recently, the Polygon zkEVM network recorded 115,114 transactions – the highest daily count since its inception – while its TVL hit record levels above $50 million as developers build toward the Polygon 2.0 roadmap.

Increase in Unique Addresses

An additional milestone was witnessed with a significant jump in unique addresses on the network jumping from 290,510 on Saturday July 29th to 340,950 by Monday July 31st; representing a 50,400 difference within just two days. This growth indicates increased adoption for the platform as users take advantage of unrivaled security and scalability offered by Polygon Labs’s zkEVM technology.

Competition from Other Rollups

Despite these impressive achievements however, Polygon’s zkEVM still faces competition from other zero-knowledge rollups like zkSync Era which saw over 844K transactions on July 17th alone; as well as Optimistic rollups such Arbitrum which has recorded over 2.7 million daily transactions .

Excitement Surrounding Project & Vision

The recent milestones achieved by Polygon’s zkEVM highlight not only its growth but also further amplifies excitement surrounding both the project as well as their ambitious vision for Polyon 2.0 .
